I am hard of hearing and come from my family that is hard of hearing. We have only recently begun to advocate more for ourselves and explore how we can improve our situation. When I learned that my new baby was born with hearing loss, I was in shock and devastated at the diagnosis.
The big question that loomed over my head constantly was, “ How is my child going to learn language and talk to us?”
